The Knight Standard: Student Leadership & Professional Development Series

The Knight Standard is a student leadership and professional development series designed to provide SCC students with opportunities to strengthen practical skills that support their academic, professional, and personal growth. The series will be offered monthly throughout the academic year, with each session focusing on a different area of leadership or professional development and featuring a different campus or community leader as the guest speaker.

The Knight Standard is open to all SCC students, regardless of whether they are members of a club, student organization, athletics, or other campus group. The goal of the series is to help students develop leadership, communication, professionalism, confidence, teamwork, and other transferable skills they can apply in the classroom, workplace, campus involvement, and their communities.

The first session will feature SCC President Dr. David Shockley, who will share his leadership journey and discuss what it means to be an effective leader, including the importance of integrity, accountability, representing an organization well, and advice for emerging student leaders.The event will take place on the Dobson Campus in room A-121.
