The Knight Standard: Leading with Purpose

The Knight Standard is a student leadership and professional development series designed to provide SCC students with opportunities to strengthen practical skills that support their academic, professional, and personal growth. The series will be offered monthly throughout the academic year, with each session focusing on a different area of leadership or professional development and featuring a different campus or community leader as the guest speaker.

The Knight Standard is open to all SCC students, regardless of whether they are members of a club, student organization, athletics, or other campus group. The goal of the series is to help students develop leadership, communication, professionalism, confidence, teamwork, and other transferable skills they can apply in the classroom, workplace, campus involvement, and their communities.

This session will focus on "Leading with Purpose," featuring Dr. Ashley Morrison as the guest speaker. This session will encourage students to explore what it means to lead with intention and understand how their values, strengths, and goals can shape the way they lead and influence others.

Dr. Morrison will share insights from her own leadership journey while discussing the importance of identifying personal values, setting meaningful goals, making intentional decisions, and remaining grounded in a sense of purpose when navigating challenges and opportunities. Students will be encouraged to consider the type of leader they want to be come and the impact they hope to make in their education, future careers, and communities.
